DIY Wedding Favour Boxes
Assemble charming little favour boxes for guests to take home. A budget-friendly personal touch that works for weddings, showers and milestone birthdays.
Materials
- Small kraft gift boxes (1 per guest)
- Twine or ribbon (1 roll)
- Printed or handwritten tags (1 per guest)
- Favour fillers (treats/seeds) (as needed)
- Greenery sprigs (1 bunch)

Step-by-Step Instructions
Choose Your Boxes
Pick small kraft or white gift boxes (flat-pack ones are cheapest). Allow one per guest plus a few spares.
Fold & Assemble
Pop each flat-pack box into shape. Line with a little tissue or shredded paper if you like.
Fill the Boxes
Add your favour — chocolates, native seed packets, mini honey jars, or lolly mixes are popular Kiwi choices.
Add a Personal Tag
Write or print a thank-you tag with the guest's name so it doubles as a place card.
Tie & Finish
Close each box and tie with twine or ribbon. Tuck a sprig of greenery under the bow for a natural look.
Display Them
Arrange the boxes on a table by the entrance or at each place setting so guests spot them straight away.
Safety Notes
If filling with edible treats, note any allergens on the tag and keep chocolate out of direct sun.
Waste & Recycling Tips
Choose kraft paper boxes and paper tags — they're recyclable. Skip plastic cellophane in favour of paper or fabric wraps.
