Make a Party Piñata
Craft a colourful star piñata from cardboard and tissue paper, then fill it with treats — a guaranteed highlight of any kids' birthday or celebration.
Materials
- Cardboard (1 large box)
- Coloured tissue paper (4–5 colours)
- PVA glue (1 bottle)
- Strong string (2 m)
- Treats to fill (as needed)

- Scissors (1)
- Masking tape (1 roll)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Cut the Shape
Cut two matching star shapes from cardboard, plus long strips to form the sides.
Assemble the Body
Tape the side strips between the two star shapes, leaving a small flap at the top open for filling.
Make the Fringe
Cut strips of coloured tissue paper and snip along one edge to create fringe.
Glue On the Fringe
Glue rows of fringe around the piñata from the bottom up, overlapping each row and alternating colours.
Add a Hanger
Punch two holes at the top and thread strong string through for hanging. Reinforce with extra tape inside.
Fill & Seal
Fill through the top flap with treats, seal it, and hang ready for the party.
Safety Notes
An adult should supervise the swinging bat and keep other children well back. Hang the piñata from a secure point.

Build the body from recycled cardboard, and fill with paper-wrapped treats or small toys rather than single-use plastic.
